Not co-operating.

I must have THE most stubborn garage door in the history of very old painted rotten wooden doors. Will that blooomin paint come off??? like heck. Tried with the hot air gun last time (with flame related results) so thought today after school I would try paint stripper and wire wool. Difference made?? ...naff all.
So. Gave up and painted the shed door instead. Something that evidently (second pic) should have been done some years ago. Quelle suprise!

Also managed to do some knitting while Murray decided he did want to win after all (door was done in first two sets).

Plus

Forgot to include earlier my big achievement of the week....we now have cool TV!!! Changed over from crappy old Virgin to da da da da....SKY + Am a bit concerned that I will now spend the next 8 months in front of the TV until the novelty wears off. Am so impressed. It just worked...straight away, which, like never happens in this house.

The only thing wrong with it is when you record the football semi finals...text your mate to say you've recorded it (and thanks for the free sky+ box) ... and she has a numpty moment and says "glad Spain won". AAArrrggghhhh!!!

Also managed to get the old french video transmitters to work....so can watch sky on the treadmill...which is good cos have recorded a tonne of crap already!

All by myself

Managed the first, well technically second, repair on my motorbike today all by myself. Replaced the indicator lens after a small incident last week (oops).

Got on a bit of a roll this morning. So much so I even skipped breakfast! The pile of papers has gone!!!!

Have somehow not killed off all the border plants yet....marigolds doing fine....

Grow my babies...grow!

Too tired after another crap day at school to face doing the garage door, so after finishing my book sat in the cosy conservatory with a big bowl of trifle I finally got round to what I had put off for too long. Seems I am an expert at growing nettles and dandelions.

I haven't got the first idea about plants, so was hoping someone else would do this for me, but in the end just shoved them in the ground and hope for the best. Bottom to top (of photo) there are Astra pink Spoon, Astra Outback, Marigolds, Lobelia, a new rose bush and some buried daffodil bulbs.

The Astras did look far more impressive before they had been in my care for a few weeks...

So. if I manage to kill off previously healthy and flourishing plants, how will I fare with actually growing stuff. Lets see how my rose bush and sunflowers do.

Good choice

At last. The new table arrived on Tuesday. After all the stress of choosing, then being out of stock, then buying some online, squeezing some into the car, then waiting for delivery... will it be worth it?

The old table. Did well for twenty quid from Tescos. Sad its died cos I made it myself.

All ready for the next bonfire.. just need Mr Kimber and some matches.

Yaaaaaay! Hurrah for bubble wrap! Hours of fun hehe.

Aspies always read the instructions!

And count the screws..

And get someone else to check that they've put a simple screw and washer in correctly.

Someone REALLY likes Allen keys apparently (or twiddly things as she calls them).

Nope. I have NO idea what I was doing. Suggestions on a postcard please...

Have a feeling I will spend a lot of the summer staring at the sky in the table...mind far away...

Does my bum look big in this shot? Thanks Alison. Very flattering.

Christened with its first outdoor meal. Dreading when it gets christened with its first knocked over bottle of Bud, or its first rain or, to Alison's amusement, its first dose of bird crap.

Taking a well earned pre lunch nap...

Didn't take long for the table to suffer its first ice cream spillage.

STRESS!!!!!!

Great way to finish the day...setting fire to your own garage. Oops. (LOL!)

El Santiago

Finally ordered the garden furniture.....what a stress!!! not helped by the fact that I couldn't make a decision if my life depended on it.. in stock, out of stock...on offer... Finally went for the really nice black one that I first fell in love with in Tescos. Ended up having to order table and parasol online (and not get angry at the WEEK it will take to get the table) .. and buy the chairs in store.

When I am less tired I will upload the photo from my phone of how Mini Moby turned into the Tardis...kind of!

83 down 0 to go

Finally finished the fence...Hurrah!!!!! Just about had enough paint. Was stressin at one point (about 20 planks to go) that I wouldn't make it. But even had enough to do the worst patch twice. Now I can order my shuffle as a reward :-)

Started dithering on the garden furniture front though. Blue or black...small or big...cheap or uncheap. ????

Look after the pennies...

Just transferred savings to my online account. Have to try to be positive about it. Everything I save is a bit less in debt I will be when I buy the house. And that can only be good. Eeek tea burning.

Scheeeeeeds

Got out there straight after school on Monday as the sun was almost shining...so what happened...yep. Rain. Gonna call this photo "so near and yet so far"

Did take some pictures of my roses in the rain though. Very nice. Not as cool as my new Animal flowerpots though hehehe.

And I noticed this morning while doing my run that my grass seed has decided to grow. Coming along nicely methinks.
